Your support speeds life saving research and drug development for the cystic fibrosis (CF) community being conducted right here at the University of Iowa. Through almost five decades of persistence, collaboration, and curiosity, University of Iowa researchers have helped transform CF from a fatal childhood illness into a manageable condition for many—changing lives and redefining what’s possible in medicine. Their work persists to save those left behind - struggling to breathe, waiting for lung transplants, investing hours each day in treatments to prolong their lives waiting for a cure.
This is Lucas, a local 6-year-old living with CF. The dream driving the WellsLee Foundation is Lucas and all living with CF benefiting from a cure so they can shine their light on the world free from the constant physical and emotional challenges of this genetic disease. The annual Walker Homestead celebration was born to give our community a fun way of participating in this dream with us each year while supporting the world leading work of our neighbors striving every day at the University of Iowa to cure CF.

Celebrate light, renewal, and hope at this special wine pairing event featuring the release of Breathe, a crisp new white wine inspired by air, ease, and the season’s return. Join us for an evening of thoughtfully paired wines and small plates, live music by Jake McVey, and a sunset Lantern Release Ceremony in support of the Wells Lee Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
